Dia De Los Muertos Celebration happening this coming 11/02/2019! One of the fun things to do in Phoenix!

Dia De Los Muertos, which means The Day of the Dead, is one of the fun things to do in Phoenix. The event will start from 11/02/2019 until 11/03/2019. This two-day event includes a lot of music, dancing, music and storytelling. The festival will commemorate at 10:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M.

SRP, Phoenix Magazine and Phoenix H&G will be the major sponsors for this event.

This celebration will contain fun things to do like crafts and face painting which the children will love. The entire family will also enjoy the Mercado which will be piled up with jewelries, arts and other wares.

Per day, La Procession will commence at 5:00 P.M. up to 6:00 P.M. with the traditional burning of troubles at the end of the procession. This represents an ancient tradition of marching to burial sites for those who have passed away. All the performers and audience members, who will be joining the procession, will pass through the Garden.

Other fun things to do in Phoenix this weekend will include:

  • El Mercado. This will be open from 10:00 A.M. until 5:30 P.M. Local and international artists, including vendors, will be at the Garden’s Mercado. Guests will discover elements of American Southwest, Mexico and Latin America from the variety of paintings, sculptures, photographs and pastries at the Mercado.
  • Ofrenda Exhibit: Ofrenda, which means Offering, is a Mexican tradition for the Dia De Los Muertos celebration. Local artists create altars that are made from original pieces.
